i purchased new headlight bulbs and theyre not opened yet but i dont know how to change them.How to change headlights in a Rav4 L 1997?If you have the owner's manual, refer to it because it should have instructions on how to replace your headlamp bulbs.
NEVER TOUCH THE GLASS BULB WITH YOUR HANDS OR YOUR LIGHTS WILL GO OUT IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. If you happen to touch the glass part of the bulb with your hands, get some rubbing alcohol and clean the bulb thoroughly before you install it to use it.
Otherwise, you just lift your hood, locate the plugs directly behind each headlight. You will probably have to turn (or push in and turn) the plug and pull out the current bulb. Then do the reverse, and you should be done. As long as you can reach the plugs (i.e. sometimes the battery or some other item is in the way), it should only take you 5-10 minutes to replace both bulbs.
