my headlights are really dull. its actually hard to see much while driving. they are dimming and have not been changed since i purchased the car. I was wondering how do i change them and how much will it cost. also how often should they be changed and will changing them even make a difference? How do i change a headlight bulb on a 1999 pontiac grand am GT?The bulb might not be bad, the lenses are most likely just fogged over. You can try and clean them with stuff from the parts store or just get new ones. How do i change a headlight bulb on a 1999 pontiac grand am GT?One can buy a bulb for @ $10. Read the owner's manual. At the rear of the headlight assembly simply turn the center piece that has the wires going to it. This contains the bulb. Remove the old bulb. Insert a new bulb but do not touch the bulb with your skin as the oil from your skin will damage the bulb. (wear gloves) Then replace the center piece and you are done. Bulbs only need to be replaced when they burn out. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
